5 Days . . .

Wow. 5 days. I don't really know how to process all of this--how do you tie up one life, cram it into two suitcases (2!) and prepare for another life you really don't know much about? I'm not sure yet, but will let you know if I figure it out!! I am leaving Monday morning, and will probably have said enough goodbyes by then to last me awhile:( Hmm, in a way life is often about saying goodbye--funny how we try to hold tight to things or people or places that are only given to us for a season.

Good point about "only for a season".
We're hoping for the season when you're back to see your TX friends.
May God richly bless you as you move on to Addis...I'm suspecting that's not anywhere near Texas.

Your post makes me think of this C.S. Lewis quote, which I love, because I like to hold onto things too:

"The settled happiness and security which we all desire, God withholds from us by the very nature of the world: but joy, pleasure and merriment He has scattered broadcast. We are never safe, but we have plenty of fun, and some ecstasy. It is not hard to see why. The security we crave would teach us to rest our hearts in this world and pose an obstacle to our return to God: a few moments of happy love, a landscape, a symphony, a merry meeting with our friends, a bathe or a football match, have no such tendency. Our Father refreshes us on the journey with some pleasant inns, but will not encourage us to mistake them for home" (from "The Problem of Pain", Chapter 7)

Hey Sara! It was good to hear from you! I didn't realize you were leaving for Ethiopia! Wow! I know that God will continue to do incredible things in your life.
I have actually just finished taking the Hurst review today, and I loved it! I feel so much better about boards, but I am still a little nervous! About your car, if you are still selling it, I would be very much interested. It is amazing how God works. I have been praying for a vehicle along the lines of an Altima, about that year and price. These last couple of months God has continuously shown me how great His timing is. I was just talking to my mom today, and we (or I) were planning on trying to make it to Jackson this weekend so I can get some stuff settled for an apartment. I don't know if that would be a good time for you; I know you are about ready to leave and are very busy. My e-mail address is leighleigh781@hotmail.com
Hope to hear from you, and I will be praying for you as you prepare to leave!
Grace and Peace,
Leigh

I loved that Piper quote. I have been mulling over it for a few days now. Too right. Thanks for the reminder - I needed it.

Have a mind-blowing time in Ethiopia, Sarita. Can't wait to see your first post from the other side.

Up, up and away!!!
